I went to The Museum Mile Festival today, which means there was free access to all the museums along “Museum Mile” on 5th Avenue.  It only lasts from 6pm to 9pm, so I had a chance to see BRÜCKE: THE BIRTH OF EXPRESSIONISM IN DRESDEN AND BERLIN, 1905-1913 at the Nueu Galerie and Francis Bacon:  A Centenary Retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  The above photo is of the Temple of Dendur at the MET.

Egon Schiele – Self Portrait with Arm Twisting Above Head (1910) on display at the Neue Galerie was one of my favorites.  Also on display were a few pieces from Gustav Klimt, Erich Heckel, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, and many others.
