La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain. Antoni Gaudi’s (1852-1926) organic and consistently moving architecture was way ahead of his time.
Gaudi became involved in the project in 1883, combining Gothic and curvilinear Art Noveau forms and devoted his last years to the ambitious minor basilica. At the time of his death (age 73), less than a quarter of the project was complete.
Anticipated completion date is 2026, the centennial of Gaudi’s death.
